The Main Dish

Date: Friday 22 and Saturday 23 July 2016

Time: 10am – 6pm

The Main Stage, or as we like to call it The Main Dish, becomes the central hub of activity throughout the event. Celebrity chef Nigel Brown will introduce a scrumptious mix of food and drink producers to showcase how they make a great combination.

Nigel Brown

Nigel has regularly appeared on BBC Radio Humberside’s morning show giving hints, tips and recipe advice, and is the food features editor and columnist for Renaissance Hull Magazine. He has worked at some of the UK’s biggest and busiest hotels, and competed in many national competitions including the London Hotelympia Salon Culinaire competitions and Forte’s Chef of the Year competition. He spent time at the highly acclaimed French cookery school Ecole Le Notre where he picked up a wealth of experience and knowledge in areas of specialist patisserie work. He has also filmed and produced a set of three cookery DVDs and launched a Cookery Academy in North Lincolnshire. We are delighted he has agreed to be the compere for this year’s Yum! festival.

Cooking Demonstrations

After the success of last year’s cooking demonstration area we’re bringing this back to the forefront of the festival and giving an opportunity to our local restauranteurs to cook up some culinary delights right before you eyes.

Sean Wilson

Sean Wilson (ex Coronation Street star Martin Platt) is back by popular demand with his cheese dishes, as part of his Saddleworth Cheese Company venture. After Sean left the street he decided to fulfil his lifelong passion of cooking and went on to spend a year training as a chef, working at a number of Michelin starred restaurants including, Northcote Manor at Langho near Blackburn. In 2009 Sean started a new venture, The Saddleworth Cheese Company. Sean is now entering his sixth year of producing award winning cheese and continues to travel up and down the country presenting his range of artisan cheeses at various festivals in their unique style focusing on fun and hilarity. – Saturday 23rd July, 2pm.
