Networking quiz will give food fans something to chew over
Tasty treats from the forthcoming Yum! Festival of Food and Drink will be up for grabs at a business networking quiz night next week.
Prizes at the event will range from wine supplied by Hull-based wholesalers DPRM Ltd and bottles of ale from Hiver Beer to a meal voucher for Stanley’s Brasserie and cup cakes from Sugar ‘n’ Spice.
Among the more unusual incentives will be dog biscuits from Happy Hounds and such creepy cuisine from Crunchy Critters as worm fudge and water scorpion.
Kathryn Shillito, HullBID City Centre Manager, said: ‘The quiz will be general knowledge but with a few foodie questions, and all the prizes have been donated by businesses which will be promoting their produce at the Yum! Festival.
‘There will be some real treats on offer, but we haven’t yet decided whether the creepy crawlies from Crunchy Critters might be better as a booby prize!’
The quiz will be hosted by local radio presenter Darren Lethem and will take place at the New Clarence pub in Charles Street, Hull, at 6.30pm for a 7pm start on Wednesday 30 July. The cost is £10 per team of four people with proceeds going to support FareShare Hull & Humber.
The Yum! Festival will take over King Edward Street and Queen Victoria Square in Hull from Thursday 7 August until Saturday 9 August. New attractions this year include three themed nights in the festival marquee, with a British night presented by Thieving Harry’s on the Thursday, American specialities from Stanley’s Brasserie on the Friday and an Indian evening with Tapasya restaurant on the Saturday.
